Necessity of Fetal Monitoring
We suggest pregnant women listen to the fetal heart sound in the following three periods:
(1)Within 30 minutes after get up
(2)Within 60 minutes after have lunch
(3)Within 30 minutes before fall asleep(normal FHR range:120~160 beats/minute)
In the preceding periods, activities such as food digestion require more oxygen, which reduces oxygen supply to the fetus. This may cause symptoms such as fetal hypoxia. Therefore, monitoring FHR in these periods helps best understand the health condition of the fetus.
